交通意外
2021年，香港交通意外超過17,000宗，傷亡人數亦超過17,000人。根據法律，交通意外是指使用車輛導致他人受傷或死亡的事件。受害者可向責任方索償，包括醫療費和收入損失。事故後應保障安全、報警、收集證據及及時就醫。私了存在風險，可能影響索償權利。律師可協助分析案件和索償，收費通常較低，且不會非法瓜分賠償金。
工傷
根據《僱員補償條例》第10條，若僱員因工傷暫時喪失工作能力，僱主需支付工傷病假錢，為每月收入的五分之四。工傷賠償包括按期款項、永久喪失賺取收入能力補償及醫療費。 按期款項涵蓋現金工資及可計算的福利。若僱員永久部分喪失工作能力，根據年齡可獲得相應的收入補償月數：40歲以下為96個月，40至56歲為72個月，56歲以上為48個月。 僱主需支付醫療費用，除非提供免費醫療，並需僱員提供有效醫療費單據。
醫療失誤
香港的醫療服務質量普遍很高，無論公立或私營，每年都有數百萬人使用。但即使醫護人員如醫生和護士經過專業訓練，有時仍可能在治療過程中出錯。當醫護人員未能達到應有的專業水平，導致病人受傷或死亡，則可視為醫療疏忽。例如，如果病人在療程中因治療失誤而受到傷害，可能構成索償個案。在醫療疏忽事故中，醫護人員的表現將與同業在類似情況下的標準進行比較。如果他們的程序符合專業標準，則不會被視為疏忽。值得注意的是，病人不能僅因治療效果不理想而指控醫護人員疏忽。要成功索償，病人必須證明因醫護人員未達標準而受到傷害，且這些傷害本可避免。
婚姻案件
離婚的唯一理由是婚姻已無法挽回，呈請人需證明通姦、不合理行為、分居一年或兩年、或遺棄。離婚程序由於家事法庭的負擔，審理時間可能長達數年，法院只在財務和子女安排妥善後才會頒發絕對離婚令。贍養費方面，法庭會考慮雙方收入及經濟需要；子女贍養費需支付至子女18歲或完成學位，金額根據父母的經濟能力決定。資產分配起步點為50/50，但會根據公平原則調整，旨在減少對小朋友的影響，鼓勵雙方為孩子的利益考慮。
遺囑及遺產承辦事宜
遺囑是法律文件，表明個人在去世後希望如何分配財產及資產。遺產承辦則是處理去世者遺產的過程，包括確認遺囑有效性、列出資產、清償債務及根據遺囑或法律分配遺產。遺囑可分為自書遺囑、公證遺囑和口頭遺囑，具體要求因地而異。為確保遺囑符合法律要求並反映生活變化，建議定期檢討及聘請專業律師協助處理遺產事宜，從而減輕家人的負擔並確保個人願望得到尊重。

在大多數人身傷害案件中，被索償人通常是保險公司。索賠人可以不需要直接向其雇主/被告提出索賠。
在大多數民事訴訟中，原告需證明自己的主張。例如，若行人因交通意外受傷並希望索償，他必須提供證據，證明司機的不小心或疏忽導致了傷害。
然而，證明意外成因可能很困難，有時事故並非任何人的過失，並非所有受害者都有權索償。可是，即使成因不明，我們仍可依據法律原則「事實自證」來推論法律責任。
在許多交通意外中，傷者可能因為怕麻煩或傷勢輕微而選擇「私了」和解。然而，這樣做存在風險。如果涉事司機未通知保險公司，傷者日後可能無法追討損失。若傷者錯判傷勢，和解結果也可能影響日後的索償權利。因此，律師能有效保護您的權益。

Who should I file my claim to?
In most Personal Injuries cases, the intended Defendants are usually an insurance company. It is not true that the claimant must raise a claim to their employer/defendant directly.
Why do you need a lawyer?
