FAQ

In most personal injury cases, the person being compensated is usually the insurance company. The claimant does not need to make a claim directly against his or her employer/defendant.

In most civil lawsuits, the plaintiff needs to prove his or her case. For example, if a pedestrian is injured in a traffic accident and wishes to claim compensation, he must provide evidence that the driver’s carelessness or negligence caused the injury. However, proving the cause of an accident can be difficult, sometimes accidents are no one’s fault, and not all victims are entitled to compensation.

However, even if the cause is unknown, we can still deduce legal liability based on the legal principle of “self-evidence of facts”.

In many traffic accidents, the injured may choose to settle privately because they are afraid of trouble or because their injuries are minor. However, there are risks in doing so. If the driver involved fails to notify the insurance company, the injured person may not be able to recover damages in the future. If the injured person misjudges the extent of his injuries, the outcome of the settlement may also affect his right to claim compensation in the future. Therefore, a lawyer can effectively protect your rights and interests.

When an accident occurs, you can take the following steps if circumstances permit:

  1. Ensure the safety of yourself and those traveling with you, and check whether you are injured or physically unwell
  2. Call the police at 999 and ask for an ambulance to be sent to the hospital for treatment or examination to protect yourself, as some symptoms may not appear immediately.
  3. Where feasible and safe, collect and preserve evidence of how the accident occurred, such as obtaining contact information from witnesses
